This policy covers our website and the Cheapest Fuel Finder Android app. Read about the Android app. Website cookie choices and app privacy choices are managed separately.
1. Who We Are
Cheapest Fuel Finder ("we", "us", "our") operates https://cheapestfuelfinder.com and the Cheapest Fuel Finder Android app. This policy explains the information processed when you use our fuel-price comparison service and the choices available to you.
Cheapest Fuel Finder for Android
The Android app helps you compare forecourts in the UK, Spain and covered areas of Australia, and view reported fuel prices for Indian cities. You can search without creating an account. Some services described below are available only in app versions where they are enabled.
Location and searches
Nearby search uses your foreground location when you grant Android permission. Depending on your choice, this can be approximate or precise. The coordinates are sent to our fuel-price API to find nearby stations. You can instead search manually by postcode or town. We do not request background location or track your journey. UK postcode searches send the postcode to postcodes.io; the returned coordinates are then used for fuel search. Town and Indian city searches are sent to our fuel-price service.
Saved information and widgets
Fuel and country preferences, typical fill quantity, favourites, saved Indian cities and privacy choices are stored on your device. Recent search and price caches can include your last search location. The app reuses search and detail cache entries for up to seven days; this is not a promise that all stored entries are deleted after seven days. Entries may remain until replaced, evicted or removed by clearing app storage. Preferences and favourites remain until you remove them or clear app storage. Android app backup is disabled.
The home-screen widget sends your selected forecourt or Indian city identifiers and fuel grade to our API to refresh prices, including while the app is closed. It does not use device location or display ads. Removing a widget stops its scheduled refreshes but does not remove your favourites from the app.
Maps and directions
Where enabled, Google Maps supplies the in-app map and processes device and network information needed to deliver it, including IP addresses, device information, map interactions, SDK identifiers and diagnostic information. Selecting Directions passes the destination forecourt location to your mapping app, whose own privacy policy applies. Your search location is not supplied by us as an advertising targeting parameter.
Advertising and consent
Where enabled, Google AdMob supplies clearly labelled inline advertising. Google's Mobile Ads SDK can process your IP address (including general location inferred from it), app and ad interactions, device or app identifiers, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. We remove the Android advertising-ID permission and request non-personalized ads. These settings do not prevent all SDK data processing or remove applicable consent requirements. We do not supply your postcode, search text, precise coordinates or favourite station identifiers as ad targeting parameters.
Google's consent messages explain the available choices and relevant ad partners. Ad requests wait until the consent SDK permits them. You can revisit available choices through Advertising privacy choices in Settings. Declining personalization may still allow limited advertising under the SDK's rules. An advertising or consent-service failure does not prevent fuel search. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Optional usage statistics and diagnostics
In versions configured with Firebase, usage statistics and crash reporting have separate controls and are off until you enable them. Usage events describe features used, such as searches, station views, favourites, widget interactions and directions. We do not attach search text, coordinates, city or station identifiers to these events. Firebase can also process its own app-instance identifiers and device information. Crash reporting processes diagnostic data. Turning these options off stops future collection through the relevant controls; it cannot recall reports already sent. Advertising consent is separate.
Service requests, retention and your controls
Our API and Cloudflare process request information, including IP addresses and requested URLs, to deliver and protect the service. App search requests do not opt in to our optional search analytics. This does not disable operational hosting or security logs. Service-provider records are handled under their respective policies and may be processed outside your country. We do not promise a single retention period for all third-party records.
Change location permission in Android settings, remove favourites or saved cities in the app, and use the app's available privacy controls. Clearing the app's storage removes its locally saved data and choices. Local deletion does not delete records already held by service providers. No mobile account is required or created. Request deletion of Android app data
To request deletion of personal data held by Cheapest Fuel Finder, email hello@cheapestfuelfinder.com with the subject "Cheapest Fuel Finder data deletion request". Describe the data you want removed. We may ask for limited additional information to verify and locate the relevant records. No app account or login is needed to make a request.
Favourites, saved cities, preferences and cached search or price results are held on your device. Remove individual favourites in the app, or clear the app's storage in Android Settings to remove all locally saved data. Clearing storage also resets your preferences and privacy choices. It does not delete records already transmitted to service providers.
Our fuel API can process IP addresses and requested URLs in operational records. The app does not enable our optional server-side search analytics. Cloudflare's standard Workers observability service currently retains logs and traces for up to seven days; this is not a retention promise for every hosting or security record. If identifiable records held by us need to be retained for security or legal obligations, we will explain the relevant reason and retention period when responding to your request.
Google Maps and advertising records are handled under Google's privacy policy and controls linked above. A request to us does not automatically erase records held independently by Google or another service provider. We will explain the scope of records we can identify and act on.
2. Information Needed for the Website
- Search and tool inputs such as locations, postcodes, fuel types and calculator values.
- Geolocation only when you grant browser permission, so we can find nearby stations.
- Preferences such as region, theme and privacy choices, stored in your browser.
- Price-alert or contact details when you choose to submit them.
- Basic request information processed by our hosting and security provider to deliver and protect the website.
3. Optional Website Analytics
Optional analytics is off until you actively consent. If enabled, our first-party analytics records page paths, page titles, referrers, campaign parameters, random visitor and session identifiers, browser and device details, screen size, and approximate country, city and region supplied by Cloudflare. We also load Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
We use this information to understand how the service is used, diagnose problems and improve features. We do not use analytics consent as a condition of accessing the service.
4. Cookies and Browser Storage

5. Your Website Privacy Choices
On your first visit you can accept all optional processing, reject it, or choose categories individually. Optional choices are off by default. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to change or withdraw your consent.
Withdrawing analytics consent stops new first-party analytics requests, removes the analytics identifiers and accessible tracking cookies stored in your browser, and sends withdrawal signals to Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before it.
6. Legal Bases
- Consent for optional analytics and marketing measurement.
- Legitimate interests for essential security, reliability and service improvement that does not require optional tracking.
- Performance of a contract or steps at your request when you request alerts or another service.
7. Service Providers and External Links
- Cloudflare provides hosting, security and data storage for the service.
- Google Analytics provides optional audience measurement. See Google's privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity provides optional interaction and performance analytics. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Some pages contain clearly identified affiliate links. If you follow one, the destination site and affiliate network process the resulting request under their own privacy terms.
8. Retention and Security
Browser preferences remain until you change them or clear site data. Optional browser analytics identifiers are removed when you withdraw analytics consent. Server-side records are restricted to authorised access and retained only while needed for analysis, security and legal obligations, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise a right. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when our processing changes. We will update the date above and request fresh consent when a change makes an existing choice no longer specific or informed.
